January 1, 2019

“We are excited to have Sara Clark and Sarah Sigman join our team of partners,” said Richard S. Taylor, Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger’s managing partner. “They have both made significant contributions to our firm’s work over the years, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration.”

Sara A. Clark represents and counsels non-profit organizations, public agencies, and Indian tribes on a wide range of environmental topics. Her practice focuses on CEQA, NEPA, and land use litigation, federal Indian and public land law, initiative and election law, land conservation, and ordinance drafting. Through this work, Ms. Clark has helped communities throughout California ensure adequate environmental review of a broad range of development projects.

Ms. Clark is an alumna of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she earned a certificate in environmental law and was elected Order of the Coif. She formerly worked with the land acquisition team at the Peninsula Open Space Trust, a regional land trust. Ms. Clark joined the firm in 2010.

Sarah H. Sigman works with public agencies, land trusts, and community groups on land use, environmental, and real estate matters. She has represented clients in negotiations, jury and bench trials, and all stages of appeal. Ms. Sigman also advises clients on transactions to protect open spaces and foster infill and transit-oriented development.

Ms. Sigman received her J.D. from Columbia Law School where she was named a James Kent and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She also holds an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering. Ms. Sigman joined the firm in 2010.
