Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger Adds to Growing Chorus of Calls for Pres. Trump’s Removal
January 7, 2021Like many of our colleagues in the legal community across the country, we at Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP are alarmed by the mob attack on the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021 and President Trump’s role in spurring on this violent crowd. In response to this disturbing event, our national leadership must take immediate action to reinforce our country’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law.
It is in this context that Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger has joined the growing list of law firms calling for the immediate removal of President Trump from office, either via the powers granted to the members of his Cabinet under the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution or by the legislative branch through the impeachment process.
We also salute the individuals and firms that have stepped forward to support the democratic values and laws that are the bedrock principles of our nation. We thank Lawyers Defending American Democracy for providing a platform through which the legal community can speak with a unified voice calling for the president’s immediate removal.
