Delta Plan, Environmental Impact Report

The firm has been retained by the Delta Stewardship Council, a new, independent state agency created in 2010 by the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Reform Act of 2009, to assist the Council and the Attorney General’s Office regarding the preparation of an EIR for the Delta Plan.  The Delta Plan will be a comprehensive, long-term management plan for the Delta to achieve the “co-equal goals” of (1) increasing the reliability of California’s water supply and (2) protecting, restoring and enhancing the Delta ecosystem, all in a manner that protects the Delta’s unique cultural values and resources.  It is anticipated to be one of the most complex and comprehensive planning efforts in the State’s history.  The Delta Plan and EIR will also be prepared with the purpose of obtaining approval under federal law that the Plan is consistent with the Coastal Zone Management Act.
