Erin Chalmers

Erin Chalmers joined Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP in 2008 as an environmental law fellow. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chalmers completed a two-year fellowship with the Sierra Club’s Environmental Law Program in San Francisco.

Mr. Chalmers graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2006 and was inducted into the Order of the Coif after graduation. During law school, he served on the executive board of the community group Wisconsin Environmental Law Advocates and volunteered with the school’s Unemployment Compensation Appeals Clinic.

During law school, Mr. Chalmers worked at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Earthjustice and Midwest Environmental Advocates. After graduation, he worked for the Sierra Club where he helped manage the organization’s nationwide docket of cases and bring litigation to protect communities in the southern Appalachians from destructive coal mining practices. He graduated in 1999 from College of the Atlantic with a B.A. in Human Ecology.

Mr. Chalmers is a member of the Bars of the States of California and Wisconsin.
