Erica A. Maharg
Ms. Maharg joined the firm in October 2011 as an environmental law fellow. For the past two years, she worked at the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 as an Honors Attorney in the Office of Regional Counsel. At EPA, she conducted enforcement matters and counseling under a variety of statutes, including the Clean Air Act; Safe Drinking Water Act; National Environmental Policy Act; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.

In 2009, Ms. Maharg graduated summa cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where she received a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. In her third year, she was a member of the team that won the National Environmental Moot Court Competition at Pace Law School. During law school, Ms. Maharg worked as a law clerk at Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch in 2006, Earthjustice in 2007, and the Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center in her third year. She also served on the executive committee of the Oregon Chapter Sierra Club and as a board member of the Oregon Fair Trade Campaign.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Maharg worked for the Sierra Club as a community organizer in Columbus, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Ms. Maharg graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in English literature and cultural anthropology.
Ms. Maharg is a member of the State Bar of California.
