Brianna R. Fairbanks

Brianna Fairbanks joined Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP in 2009 as an environmental law fellow. She graduated in the top ten percent of her class from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2007, where she earned a Statement of Completion in Environment and Natural Resources Law and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Fairbanks completed the two-year Michael F. Vaccaro Honors Attorney Fellowship at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region III office in Philadelphia, where she brought environmental enforcement actions against violators of federal environmental laws, including RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, and EPCRA. While at the EPA, she was awarded a Gold Medal from the Philadelphia Federal Executive Board, an EPA Silver Medal for Superior Service, and three EPA Bronze Medals for Commendable Service.

During law school, Ms. Fairbanks served as an articles editor for the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation, and was a co-director of the annual Public Interest Environmental Law Conference sponsored by Land Air Water, an environmental law student group at the University of Oregon. She worked with the Sierra Club Environmental Law Program, the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide, and the Western Environmental Law Center. She also summered with Faegre & Benson, LLP as the Environmental Intern, where she helped represent the Humane Society and other public interest organizations in Endangered Species Act litigation.

Ms. Fairbanks graduated with High Honors from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Russian and East European Studies. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
