Laurel L. Impett AICP.Ms. Impett joined the firm in 1989, after two years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region IX and two years as a transportation planning consultant. She received her graduate degree in Urban Planning and Architecture from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1985. Since joining the firm, Ms. Impett has represented community and environmental groups through the administrative process on an array of complex land use projects. She reviews and analyzes environmental documents, manages technical consultants, prepares comment letters for consideration by public officials, negotiates with planning staff and testifies at public hearings. Ms. Impett also provides strategic advice to public agencies on land use matters and the applicability of environmental laws and regulations, including CEQA and NEPA. She acts as project manager on large-scale, complex land use projects, manages and prepares environmental impact reports, and negotiates with regulatory agencies. She lectures on CEQA compliance throughout the state and conducts CEQA training courses for local officers, planners and environmental groups, and has lectured on CEQA procedure at Cal State University, Hayward. Ms. Impett is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners and the Association of Environmental Professionals. portraits by Liza Heider |
