Amy J. Bricker

Ms. Bricker joined the firm as an environmental law fellow in 2003 after graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law. At UCLA Law, Ms. Bricker earned a certificate from the Program in Public Interest Law and Policy, served as Articles Editor for the UCLA Law Review, and earned membership in the Order of the Coif. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley with honors.

Ms. Bricker’s practice covers several areas of land use and environmental law, including CEQA and state planning and zoning law. She represents community groups in administrative proceedings and litigation on CEQA and related issues. Ms. Bricker represents a coalition of local, state and national environmental and community groups challenging sprawl development in the Martis Valley area of the Sierra Nevada. She is also a member of the firm’s initiative and referendum team, providing drafting assistance and advice on local land use measures.

In law school Ms. Bricker served as both a summer law clerk and full time extern for the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, where she gained experience with enforcement of federal environmental laws, including NEPA; CERCLA; Clean Air Act; Clean Water Act; RCRA; and the Coastal Zone Management Act. She also worked with the Santa Monica Bay Keeper and the Environmental Defense Center through UCLA’s Environmental Law Clinic.

Ms. Bricker has previously worked as a project director for the Center for Food Safety, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., where she gained extensive experience with agriculture issues. Her work included monitoring and commenting on the actions of various administrative agencies (including the FDA and USDA); organizing grass-roots campaigns; and producing numerous publications, including serving as Assistant Editor for Fatal Harvest: The Tragedy of Industrial Agriculture (Island Press 2002).

Ms. Bricker is a member of the Bars of the State of California, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
